We would love each of you to continue to send us prayers of strength and hope and, a new one today, prayers of sleep. Both Sandy and Phil are having trouble sleeping so any help would be great. On the other hand, Benjamin seems to be sleeping more than usual...apparently he is stealing all of the sleeping prayers at this time.
We visited with a few close friends today....Sandy even did some shopping and Phil cut the grass. Phil also watched a little bit of Wimbledon, which he would have been watching with his Mom if we hadn't had to cancel our trip. (By the way I'm cheering for Federer!)
We wish all of you a happy pre-July 4th and are extremely grateful that Sandy's parents will be coming shortly. In addition, thanks to Cindy and Keith for helping us to talk through a lot of logistics today, and to Rebekah for shopping with Sandy for "special" surgery clothes, and also to Rebekah for finding us a free vacuum!
Take care, love Phil

I felt like texting you at 4 AM this morning when I wasn't sleeping. A new day is here--new prayers for your recovery and strength for you to endure what is ahead. Love from Prairie Lawn!
ReplyDeleteI want to say thank you for setting up this blog! There are a lot of people like me who are more towards the back of the "thriller triangle" who really want to know what is happening and how you guys are doing but who hate to barge in and make you put on your "public face" to find out.
ReplyDeleteActually, when I signed up to dance, I was a little too far away to hear well and I thought we were going to do "Spiller". I took one look at the front of my T-Shirt and joined up!
Having had some minor surgery recently, and remembering the apprehension I had before hand, I can tell you that my anxiety dissappeared when I actually got to the hospital and started talking to the nurses and doctors. They were so competent and caring that I immediately felt that I could relax and let them do the worrying. If it helps, just think about the great doctors and nurses that you've known and imagine being in their care. Laurie and I will be thinking of you and sending you all our best thoughts.
