Saturday

We had another good night...apparently Sandy was carrying around an extra 8 liters of liquid in her body and as of today now only 6.4 (I don't even want to pretend I know how they calculate this.... :)) This loss of liquid should continue the more she is able to move and because she is off the IV.

Dr. Beck came in today and because the fever did not go up too high he is quite encouraged that the antibiotics are doing their job. Good news...at this point he won't need to open up the incision again....hopefully the fever will stay down! However too facilitate the healing, I was trained this morning how to get the blood out...wow, was that amazing and tough to push a cotton swab into Sandy's belly! Luckily, I didn't hurt her and she still loves me!

With any luck, we will be changing addresses tomorrow, back to our home, provided the fever does not spike this afternoon. It will be great to have Sandy at home again and great for Benjamin as well...he continues to be such a trooper.

In the meantime, Janet is visiting with Sandy, Benjamin is supposed to be napping, and I get to play hockey for the first time in a number of weeks, with Benjamin and Jan in attendance if all works out. I will then head back to the hospital suite, for hopefully, the last night!

Hope everybody is having as great a Saturday as we are. Take care, Phil

(Good to know you're taking some time to have some fun!!!)

We're delighted to hear of Sandy's good progress. Hope the next report can be about a joyful homecoming!!

In our meditations, we visualize Sandy surrounded with healing green light... the kind you experience on a summer morning as shafts of sunlight glow through a leafy canopy of intersecting branches.

    Be blessed! Love,

    Karl
